Synopsis
Apu epouse une jeune fille qu'il ne connait pas pour lui eviter le deshonneur, son pretendant etant subitement devenu fou. Ce mariage inattendu se transforme en un amour profond, mais la jeune femme meurt en couches et Apu rejette son enfant de toutes ses forces.
